《劳动与人口经济学定量研究专题》课程大纲

课程目标:

本课程旨在引导学生通过对劳动经济学、人口经济学及卫生经济学等学科领域的国际前沿文献的研读和讨论,熟练掌握经济学定量研究的各种方法,掌握常规计量统计软件的使用技巧,培养湘大学子关注、思考和分析中国重大社会经济问题的兴趣和能力,拓展其观察和审视问题的经济学视野,并能规范地应用各种定量研究方法进行社会保障、收入分配、土地流转、劳动力流动及健康投资等领域的学术论文写作。

 

预修课程:中级微观经济学、中级宏观经济学、高级计量经济学

 

课程内容:

本课程所研读的各类文献均为纯实证研究类型,主要涉及横截面及面板分析的各种微观计量分析方法,而不涉及时间序列分析、ARCH等计量方法。根据文献中所涉及的计量模型的不同,本课程主要按以下模块的顺序进行文献研读和讨论:

1) 常规计量模型:OLS, Logit, Probitmlogit, Ordered-Logit,动态OLS回归等;

2) 工具变量法:Instrumental Variables

3) 双差分析法:Difference-in-Difference

4) 面板分析法:Panel Data

 

授课方式:

课程时长三小时,由论文报告(80分钟)、课堂讨论(40分钟)和教师讲解(60分钟)三部分组成。根据“课程内容”教学模块的进度情况,每次课将研读和讨论两篇论文,分别安排一个学生在课前精读,并准备PPT,各上台报告40分钟,在报告过程中,学生们积极参与讨论发言,讨论完后,教师将针对文献中所涉及的计量模型及研究方法等进行讲解。

 

学习要求:

1) 安排报告论文的同学,均需准备PPT,要讲解清楚以下问题:研究意义、主要结论、论文边际贡献、主要研究方法、计量分析工具选取、计量回归结果如何解读,等等。

2) 未安排到报告论文的学生也需要课前精读论文,并积极参与课堂发言。

3) 课程结束时,每位学生均需提交一篇课程论文的大纲(不要求全文),应包括以下内容:研究背景、文献回顾、研究意义、研究方法及计量工具选取、数据描述性统计结果,等。

 

成绩评定办法

课堂出勤情况:10%

论文研读报告:40%(本学期每人精读并报告两篇文章,每次20%

课堂讨论发言:20%

期末课程论文:30%
